Transitional Support Services (New Chapter)

This transitional program provides substance abuse treatment to women admitted to WATC. The program bridges the gap between detoxification and/or step-down services (Clinical Stabilization Services) and residential rehabilitation (halfway house or sober house placement). It is designed to provide short-term residency, further stabilization after detox, next-step case management, and safe, sober placement. New Chapter offers 24-hour service, utilizing case management and psycho-education, with on-site clinical, nursing, and support staff.

Case management services include service planning, goal development, and family unification. Referrals will be facilitated for residents requiring physical and mental health care, assistance with legal issues, sober housing, residential treatment, and vocational and educational needs. Residents attend psycho-educational groups and lectures that focus on topics like relapse prevention, relationships, HIV awareness, domestic violence, nutrition, self-help, men's and women's recovery issues, and other topics related to developing a lifestyle that is conducive to continued recovery. Residents also attend daily in-house commitment (AA/NA) groups.
